Dates:
Dates have been cultivated and eaten for thousands of years. The small fruits thrive on date palms in hot and dry climates. Thanks to their high sugar content, they have a very long shelf life and, like dried fruit, can be stored easily and for a long time.
There are well over 1000 different varieties of dates worldwide, but only a few of these are grown commercially. The two best-known varieties are Deglet Nour and Mazafatie. These two date varieties are also the best-selling.
We offer both types as standard. 'Deglet Nour' is semi-sweet with a moisture content of around 16-18% and 'Mazafatie' is fruity with a moisture content of around 18-22%.
